The “Brilliant Moonlight 2024” Mid-Autumn Festival, organized by the Houston Vietnamese American Development Organization (HVAD) at 22541 Grand Cir Blvd, Katy, Texas, will take place on September 21 and 22, 2024.
The event will bring together thousands of attendees with many unique cultural, artistic, and entertainment activities, recreating the traditional Mid-Autumn atmosphere in the heart of America.
Cultural Interchange Space
The festival is designed as a vivid picture of Vietnamese culture, where colorful lanterns, bustling lion drums, and traditional culinary flavors blend with the modernity of community life.
Each area in the festival space is arranged separately to bring a rich experience to attendees — from the music stage, performance area, to the family entertainment zone.
Highlights
The highlight of the program is a series of diverse performances:
Music Performances – featuring many artists and community bands.
Lion Dance & Martial Arts Performance – opening the festival in a vibrant atmosphere.
Lantern Parade & Performance – where children light up colorful lanterns under the moonlight.
Supercar Showcase – combining tradition and modernity to create a unique highlight.
Folk Games & Bingo Zone – bringing laughter and connection to all ages.
Community Support
The festival received strong support from many organizations in the Vietnamese community in Houston, including The Best Rate Insurance, Van Houston Academy, Lavalion, and many other businesses and volunteers.
This cooperation not only helped the event succeed in scale but also demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and mutual support among Vietnamese people living far from home.
Cultural and Community Significance
“The Moonlight” is not only a Mid-Autumn Festival, but also an opportunity for the young generation of Vietnamese Americans to better understand their national traditions, while the larger community shares cultural values and Vietnamese pride.
In the modern Texas setting, the Mid-Autumn Moonlight still retains its timeless meaning — a symbol of reunion, love, and connection.
